Week 8 Blog!

Hello everyone,

This week, Josh and I made quite an advancement in our code, and we are getting close to running all of the code successfully. Last week, I had trouble accessing our dataset pictures, so I had to download the whole dataset again and unzip the file containing around 20,000 images. We only uploaded 400 total pictures, so when we got to the part of the code where it plots the accuracy, we could see that our data was not accurate. So now we have to go back and download more pictures and upload them into our dataset so that the plot gives us more precise information.

  Hello everyone!! This week, I worked with Josh in the lab, learning how to access Google Colabs and looking into learning Python as a programming language in Google Colabs as well. As part of my internship, I will try to learn how to code in Python by finding online tutorials or exercises. If someone in this group knows of any good and helpful web pages for me, please let me know since I am still searching for some. I am excited to try and learn Python independently since it is a skill I will significantly benefit from. I will inform you about my progress and post some learning exercises here.   Hi everyone! This semester, I will learn a little about Python as a programming language and work with Microsoft Azure; & I will also do some of the things I did in the previous semester, which is plating the bacteria and taking pictures of the colonies. I am excited, & nervous at the same time to start this new semester. Last semester was challenging because I was a full-time student and worked an average of 30 to 40 hours at Costco. I am in the same boat this semester, so I am nervous, but I did well in all my classes last semester, so I am confident that I can do it again this semester. I hope everyone has an excellent first week of school!

 Hi everyone,  I worked on my final paper for this internship yesterday in the lab. With the help of Josh, I made some corrections that he suggested for my last submission. I still have a few more things to work on before finishing this assignment, but I have made some good progress and learned a lot, which is crucial. I am glad this semester is almost ending since it has been hectic. I am very grateful for all the opportunities I have had this year, and I am excited to see what else is in store this following semester. I hope everyone else projects is coming out nicely and as planned.
