Week 10 post

 Hello everyone!

This week in the lab, I got to take more samples and pictures of bacteria. I also got to view some of the bacteria colonies under the microscope. Which I have to admit was super cool. However, it was hard to distinguish anything for some of the bacteria colonies. I am currently working on this project with Marco & Maya. We are coordinating and working as a team to complete the samples and photos. The photos that we are taking of the models are uploaded to a google drive and formatted. At first, I viewed this internship as scary, but I am excited to see how this project turns out right now.

    Hi Annemarie, I also remember thinking this program would be scary as well. But I'm starting to feel more comfortable and excited, and I'm glad so are you. I love taking pictures of things under a microscope. It's so fascinating to see what you can't normally see.

  Hello everyone!! This week, I worked with Josh in the lab, learning how to access Google Colabs and looking into learning Python as a programming language in Google Colabs as well. As part of my internship, I will try to learn how to code in Python by finding online tutorials or exercises. If someone in this group knows of any good and helpful web pages for me, please let me know since I am still searching for some. I am excited to try and learn Python independently since it is a skill I will significantly benefit from. I will inform you about my progress and post some learning exercises here.   Hi everyone! This semester, I will learn a little about Python as a programming language and work with Microsoft Azure; & I will also do some of the things I did in the previous semester, which is plating the bacteria and taking pictures of the colonies. I am excited, & nervous at the same time to start this new semester. Last semester was challenging because I was a full-time student and worked an average of 30 to 40 hours at Costco. I am in the same boat this semester, so I am nervous, but I did well in all my classes last semester, so I am confident that I can do it again this semester. I hope everyone has an excellent first week of school!

Week 12 post

 Hi everyone,  I worked on my final paper for this internship yesterday in the lab. With the help of Josh, I made some corrections that he suggested for my last submission. I still have a few more things to work on before finishing this assignment, but I have made some good progress and learned a lot, which is crucial. I am glad this semester is almost ending since it has been hectic. I am very grateful for all the opportunities I have had this year, and I am excited to see what else is in store this following semester. I hope everyone else projects is coming out nicely and as planned.
